The youth are our future and Diepsloot Youth Project wants to make sure they have a bright one. The project was started in 2016 with the aim of fostering a positive youth culture that promotes health and well-being. Through interactive programs and engaging activities, the youth are provided with the tools necessary to become successful individuals.
DYP also aims to establish partnerships with local schools, community groups, and other organisations in order to provide enrichment opportunities for the children within these groups. By investing in the future of our youth, we are ensuring a strong and prosperous South Africa that is free from crime and violence.
A survey conducted by Diepsloot Youth Project (DYP) indicates that nearly 80% of the youth read newspapers and magazines on a daily basis. DYP wants to change this habit and bring about a shift in youth’s attitude towards reading. To do so, they have been hosting events where participants can win prizes for reading daily newspapers and magazines. So stop skipping breakfast and start reading the morning newspapers!

The Youth Project provides fun and engaging opportunities for local youth to participate in positive activities that develop their social skills, build confidence and empower them to make a positive change in their community. Because crime is extremely damaging to the psyche of a young person, engaging them in programs that foster self-esteem and respect is vital. When they take part in our Youth Project, they are learning new skills, building relationships and gaining valuable knowledge that will help shape their futures.
