When we think of a place where you can get entertained and enjoy all that art has to offer, we usually picture an art gallery or a museum. But what about when you want to experience the magic of arts and culture without constantly looking at a screen?

Leaving screens behind, you can now engage in arts and culture in a fun way! Join us at Diepsloot Youth Arts and Culture Project, where youth from all backgrounds come together to create works of art that will be displayed for years to come. From dance and music performances to photography and literature, every project is unique and showcases the talent of participants. Select projects are also available for booking so that you can enjoy them with your friends or family!

Youth! Youth! What is your passion? Is it music, arts, or culture? We believe that every child is an artist at heart. What’s more, we also believe that art and culture enrich a child’s life. That’s why we have started the Diepsloot Youth Arts and Culture Project. This project is run by volunteers who are driven by passion and commitment to bring art and culture to the youth of Diepsloot in South Africa.

With over 200 classes under our belt, you can be sure that your child will be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing which class they want to attend. There are even after-school activities like music, dance, drama, and more where they can express themselves freely. They’ll be learning new skills on how to integrate art into daily life while also developing their creative abilities.

By now, you’d agree with us when we say that Diepsloot Youth Arts and Culture Project is changing the perception of youth in South Africa. With its true-to-life, unapologetic approach to art and culture, the project is focusing on developing a new generation of artists and cultural innovators.

The project aims to create a broader understanding of the arts and culture in society, while educating the youth about their history and significance. The impact has been profound – it’s not just local kids taking part in these workshops or classes; kids from all over South Africa are showing interest! Their commitment is inspiring!

We all know that art and culture is important for our overall development. But, what if we could combine both?

Diepsloot Youth Arts and Culture Project is working day in and day to do just that. Since its inception four years ago, the project has been providing art classes and cultural programs to children of all ages in the area. Young artists are taught valuable skills such as creativity, patience, focus, and more by some of the country’s best teachers. The group also organizes regular music programs, movie nights, literary nights, and more.

Have you ever felt restricted by your surroundings? Do you feel like you have no say in your life and someone else is dictating your destiny? These are just some of the questions that young people from Diepsloot, Soweto face on a daily basis. In a bid to change their lives for good, Diepsloot Youth Arts and Culture Project has been introducing them to new ways of thinking and living.

The goal is simple – to make them creative, confident and empowered individuals in their communities. And they are doing it!
