We live in a digitally driven world where our lives are largely dependent on the Internet. But it’s not just this that makes the world so connected, but also sports. The amount of data and information shared across various platforms is increasing by the day, which means we must take cybersecurity seriously with regard to sports as well.
Diepsloot Youth Project is an initiative to spread awareness about cybersecurity and how to protect data in sports during their training sessions. By partnering with Diepsloot Group, they have created a dedicated team that can help them get better acquainted with cyber security practices while also bringing them closer to their IT department. They’re laying down a strong foundation for future leagues and competitions where there needs to be a lot more focus on security measures than ever before.
As sports and the way we follow them have evolved, so has the need for cybersecurity. This is where Diepsloot Youth Project shines. We believe that sports should be safe, but also exciting and engaging. Join us as we explore new ways to keep athletes safe online while they compete at their peak level.
As the world becomes more aware of cybersecurity issues, it is becoming increasingly important for sports to be a part of this. We are now seeing more and more people realizing how important it is to have a strong protection system in place. With that being said, we also want our youth to get involved in cybersecurity as well.
To start with, we partnered with Diepsloot Youth Project and hosted a cybersecurity seminar there. This was followed by an online course which was created with the sole purpose of teaching kids about cybersecurity from a young age. We wanted them to understand what data security is all about and why they should protect their accounts from unwanted intrusions and attacks.
Nowadays, children are more tech-savvy than ever before, so chances are you will already know at least one kid who’s into coding or hacking!
As a sports journalist, you’re constantly on the lookout for fresh insights and opinions. But when it comes to cybersecurity in sports, most people either know nothing about it or have only heard of the bigger names. So we decided to take matters into our own hands and find out what the youth think on this topic.
We reached out to Diepsloot Youth Project, an initiative that aims at creating awareness about cybersecurity among youth. We conducted an online survey with over 600 respondents from all age groups, genders and geographical locations. The overwhelming response was that there is no dearth of interest in cybersecurity among sports enthusiasts!
