Have you ever wondered what happens to discarded clothes in Diepsloot? The Diepsloot Youth Project is an initiative that converts these unwanted articles into something beautiful. The idea behind the project is simple – to give new life to old clothes, by turning them into accessories that can be used and appreciated worldwide.

The project has been running for over 15 years now, and has made use of around 25 000 pieces of clothing since then. In this way, it not only keeps our land clean and beautiful, but also provides us with a handy resource for any kind of crafting we may need.

Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to make use of your old clothes!

When children are involved in crime, it is understood that it affects their family too. But what about the youth who commits crimes? Have you ever thought about how it affects their families?

Meet Corrie, a 9-year-old girl from Diepsloot who believes that she is ‘bad’ and should be punished for her crimes. She has been living with her mother since she was born, and through the Youth Project, she is able to learn how to make good decisions and find a way to become a well-adjusted youth.

The Youth Project offers free counseling sessions for children who have been affected by crime or violence. They also offer a safe space where children can reflect on the traumatic experience they have gone through, in an environment of acceptance and understanding. Children attend these sessions with their parents so that they can talk openly about their experience without any judgment or stigma attached to them.

Youth are known to take risks and learn by doing. With that in mind, the Diepsloot Youth Project has been running for over a decade now. The project aims at educating youth on important issues and helping them develop life skills so that they can become socially responsible adults.

Project participants are taught how to make informed decisions on key topics, such as civic engagement, voting rights, and anti-corruption efforts. They also receive information on the economic welfare of South Africa, job prospects, and entrepreneurship opportunities. Finally, project participants receive mentorship from experienced professionals who are willing to share their knowledge with them.

With the Diepsloot Youth Project as a part of your community’s ecosystem, you’ll be doing your part in providing young people with the tools they need to thrive in today’s changing world.

When you see a crime taking place, do you feel like running towards it to stop it? If yes, then buckle up for this is going to change your life forever. The Diepsloot Youth Project is an initiative that aims to empower the youth by giving them a voice. In an effort to reduce crime, they run programs that aim to inculcate values in the youth and help them realize their dreams.

They organize workshops where they learn more about themselves and their community. They also run meetings where they discuss matters regarding their neighborhood and access local government services. Their efforts have already paid off as crimes have reduced significantly in the area.

Youth unemployment is a major challenge of our time, and Diepsloot Youth Project is working to create opportunities for young South Africans to succeed. The Project partners with local youth leaders to provide them with the skills they need to find stable employment.

The Project also runs programs that prepare young people for life after high school. These programs include college courses, apprenticeships, and work-based training programs. By providing these young people with the skills they need to succeed, DYP is helping them get on track for a bright future.

From creating job opportunities for young people to advocating for their rights, DYP has made an impact in Diepsloot by giving back and making a difference.
