Youth unemployment is high in South Africa. In fact, it’s the highest in the world. But there’s one project that aims to change that. Working with kids to build their own businesses, this project has helped more than 150 youth acquire their first source of income and become financially independent. The Youth Economic Empowerment Strategy (YES) is changing lives by empowering young people and helping them realize their full potential. We are proud to partner with Diepsloot Youth Project on this noble endeavor, and we hope you will join us too!

Diepsloot is a township located in Ekurhuleni, and it’s one of the most affected areas by unemployment. That’s why in 2016, we launched the Youth Economic Empowerment Strategy (YES), which has been working tirelessly to improve the lives of our young people. The goal is simple: to identify and empower young people who are unemployed or living below the poverty line so that they can thrive. Through innovative programs that offer opportunities for youth development, we’re helping them gain skills and experience that will help them find and keep jobs. But our work isn’t finished yet – every day, more young people are joining YES so they can be part of change too!
