Youth Educational Support (YES) at Diepsloot Youth Project provides them with an opportunity they wouldn’t otherwise have, and helps transform them into tomorrow’s leaders. Through tailored programs, they learn new skills that will help them succeed in life. They’re encouraged to express their opinions and share their ideas without fear of reprisal from others; this builds confidence that was otherwise lacking. And most importantly, they develop lifelong friendships through activities like sports, dance classes or trips abroad!
It all adds up to a brighter future for these kids who are working hard every day to overcome poverty and stigma surrounding mental health issues that can leave many feeling hopeless about the opportunities available for young people in South Africa today.
Diepsloot is known for its business acumen and innovation. But, no one knows how many of the residents in this township are actually enrolled at school. When there’s a need to educate children from where education is not compulsory, Diepsloot Youth Project intends to help. Established in 2016 by an educationalist, the youth project has been working towards ensuring that every child gets education. That’s why they have tied up with the schools near their premises to ensure that children get access to quality education irrespective of their economic background or caste identity. They have also tied up with other organizations like Swayam Pratishthan and Samaj Seva Mandal so that they stay updated on current happenings in the society.”
Diepsloot Youth Project is a non-profit organization that offers education and support to orphans, homeless children, and other children in need. We provide them with quality education so they can become self-sufficient adults. Our programs include life skills training, curriculum development, and psychosocial support to ensure they have the tools they need to succeed in life.
