Take a look at the news, and you’ll see a lot of violence, destruction, and crime. It may seem like the youth are hell bent on destroying the world around them. But is it so? Do we really know who they are and what influences them? What if I told you that there’s another way to understand their actions?
Diepsloot Youth Project is an initiative that aims to empower young people by providing them with an opportunity to change the world around them for real. The project takes place in Diepsloot township in Johannesburg, South Africa, home to many of South Africa’s most troubled youths. By providing these children with opportunities to learn critical thinking skills while also exposing them to new ways of thinking, DYP hopes that they’ll be able to become agents of positive change in their communities.

We all know the importance of knowledge in this age of technology. But what about the need to learn values and morals? That’s where Diepsloot Youth Project comes into play. Founded by Amaethine, an aspiring entrepreneur who wants to make a difference in the world through business and social media, DYP is creating a ripple effect that will change lives for years to come.
Through their school, it brings together learners from diverse backgrounds and helps them grow into leaders with mature mindsets. Forming close ties with local communities and businesses, DYP understands how important it is for kids to gain valuable life skills while also learning important principles that will guide them throughout adulthood.
Do you know how many kids die through fire accidents every year?
More than 8,000 children are killed in these incidents across the globe. Despite being one of the biggest killers of young lives, we hardly find ourselves talking about it or taking any steps to prevent such incidents from happening. That’s where Youth Empowerment Through News comes in!
For over 25 years now, DYPR has been working tirelessly towards a safer tomorrow for our children by encouraging youth and educating them on road safety and other safety tips. Every time a child graduates from school, he or she receives a pen drive from DYPR that contains loads of valuable information on road safety and awareness among other things.
Join us by taking out a pledge to change the world for the better by contributing to this movement!

Today, newspapers have become a source of education for many kids. They learn about the world and its people through them. Teens are enthralled by their colorfulness and aesthetics, which gives them a peek into the life of many across the globe. Moreover, it is important to teach students about journalism, because it is not only an art but also a science that teaches you how to report, analyze, and interpret information. Join us in empowering children by making them acquainted with journalism!
