Youth unemployment has been a growing concern for many years now. And the problem is getting worse every day. The youth feels entitled to a stable job, and the employer is expected to provide it on top of everything else. Youth unemployment is not new, but in 2017 it reached alarming numbers: over 7 million youth were unemployed globally.

Youth unemployment has become a global issue, and we all have a role to play in its solution. DYP’s youth employment initiative aims to bring about long-term change by giving disadvantaged youth the chance to develop their skills and build a resume that employers can trust. We provide training programs that teach valuable soft skills like teamwork, problem solving, and communication that employers value today.

DYP’s goal is to create a sustainable career path for our young people so they can move forward and become productive members of our society. We believe that investing in youth development will lead us all towards a more prosperous future!

Youth unemployment is becoming an alarming issue all over the globe. In order to counter this, many organizations have come up with youth programs to make them job ready. Diepsloot Youth Project is one such organization that has been working for the past 20 years in giving a better tomorrow to the youth of Diepsloot.

DYP offers different courses to train people for a various jobs, attend employment workshops and run their own businesses. They also provide hostel facilities where they can stay in safety and stay close to their mentors.

Yesterday’s youth is today’s unemployable youth. Who says so? The Diepsloot Youth Project! Our team of young and enthusiastic leaders has come together to solve this widespread problem by providing the unemployed youth with the much-needed skills, training, and guidance. We are committed to making a difference in our local communities by empowering young people with valuable life skills that will help them to build strong future relationships, develop confidence, and achieve their goals.

DYP offers classes in various skill sets like communication skills, soft skills, leadership, financial management etc to equip you for life after school. Classes are held on Monday evenings from 7pm-9pm at their main office in Diepsloot. They also have branches at Bloemhof Mall and Diep River Mall which they run on a weekly basis.

The youth unemployment problem is alarming in South Africa. Every year, thousands of young people lose their jobs and are unable to find another one. And this problem is only set to grow with time.

The Diepsloot Youth Project aims to tackle this problem head-on by providing young people with the skills they need to find employment. The program runs workshops and seminars where participants learn how to code, prepare resumes, interview, and network. All of this helps them build a strong foundation for future job searches.

With this program in place, we can finally say that there’s no shame in being unemployed in Diepsloot!
