I’ve been working with these young men and women for the last couple of years now, helping them develop the skills they need in order to thrive in today’s world.

Now the locals can feel safe walking out of the station after dark. And when they do, they can thank the Diepsloot Youth Project!

The new Diepsloot Youth Project police station is finally complete and ready to serve.     The much-awaited Diepsloot Police Station, situated on the north of Johannesburg, has finally been inaugurated. The station was officially opened by MEC for Economic Opportunities, Robin Diworfe Adkins, who visited the facility this morning. The new station is equipped with all modern facilities to ensure that police are able to efficiently do their jobs in an environment that is conducive to crime fighting. We are excited about the new station and its integration into the community.

    We are excited to announce that Diepslout Youth Project in Gauteng has contributed another $5,000 towards our global initiative of funding programs and initiatives that aim to empower youth.     Diepsloot Youth Project is an initiative run by young adults in Diepsloot who understand firsthand how powerlessness and lack of access to resources can lead to poor decision-making, delinquency, and other forms of crime. The project supports young people through mentorship, employment opportunities, skills training, health education and counseling services. Together we can make a difference!

    Gauteng is known for its rapid growth, but in terms of youth development, the province still lags behind the rest of the country. But that doesn’t have to be the case anymore – thanks to Diepsloot Youth Project.

    With an aim to create change, DYP has been working with young people in Gauteng since 2012. They’ve achieved great success so far in their efforts to empower youth and encourage them towards positive ways of living.

The project is a collaborative effort of Diepsloot Community Development Forum, city of Johannesburg and local government. It aims at improving skills and encouraging entrepreneurship among youth, ensuring their inclusion in society by providing opportunities for employment through setting up training institutes. The project also helps them live life free from crime and drugs.

    The youth of Gauteng are making strides towards self-reliance and empowerment. They are developing their own ideas about the future, creating initiatives and taking decisions for their own lives. Through a partnership between Diepsloot Youth Project and Gauteng Department of Education, the youth of Diepsloot have been given practical opportunities which could help them in realizing these aspirations. The Department is also working with Gauteng Metro Police to ensure that they get proper guidance so that they can grow properly as citizens while also satisfying their passion for law enforcement.
